The False Science behind Climate Change

There should be real science behind the claims made about Anthropogenic Climate Change. Anthropogenic meaning man-made. Sadly, all such science is faulty. Phrases that come to mind are pseudo-science, witchcraft, mumbo-jumbo.

Most of the evidence is selective or has been doctored. The science is almost like it was produced by a primary school student! Here are some pages showing this pseudo-science in action.

Hallmarks of Pseudo Science

Pseudo science dresses itself up in the language of science, with graphs, models and official-sounding bodies, but it skips the hard part: testing the idea against reality and accepting the result. Watch for these signs.

• The conclusion comes first. The answer is decided, then evidence is gathered to fit it. Anything that does not fit is ignored or explained away.
• Every outcome is proof. If any result at all is counted as confirmation, the claim cannot be tested, and an untestable claim is not science.
• Consensus replaces evidence. “97% of scientists agree” is a head count, not an experiment. Science is not decided by a vote.
• Cherry-picked start and end points. Choose the right start year and almost any trend can be made to go up or down.
• Adjusted data, hidden methods. Raw measurements are “corrected”, but the raw data and the reasons for each correction are hard or impossible to get.
• Models treated as measurements. A computer model is only as good as the assumptions fed into it. Its output is a forecast, not an observation.
• Critics are labelled, not answered. Calling someone a “denier” is the language of religion, not of science.

Test It Yourself

You do not need a degree to check a scientific claim. Ask three simple questions: what result would prove this wrong? Where is the raw data? Who paid for the study, and what do they gain if it says what it says? If those questions are met with anger rather than answers, you are probably looking at pseudo science.

Why It Matters

Billions are being spent, and whole industries reshaped, on the strength of these claims. Every dollar spent on a problem that is not real is a dollar not spent on problems that are, such as the plastics in our environment and in our bodies.
